Why Mileena From Mortal Kombat Is A Terrible Character

Then there’s the whole “clone” thing. So she’s supposed to be Kitana, but twisted. But if she’s a clone, why does she look like a mutated horror movie reject? Did Shang Tsung just… have a bad day in the lab? Like, “Oops, spilled the mutagen. Guess this one’s going to have… this.

She’s also a great foil for Kitana. The perfect dark mirror. Kitana is the poised princess, the righteous fighter. Mileena is… the ravenous monster that could have been. It’s a classic good vs. evil, but with a heaping side of genetic horror.

And the way she fights! She’s surprisingly agile for someone who looks like they might break their own jaw every time they chew. Those sai spins and lunges… it’s a lot of flailing, but somehow it’s effective. It’s like watching a rabid squirrel try to do ballet. Terrifying, but strangely captivating.
