Whatever Happened To The Cast Of Who S The Boss

Whatever Happened To The Cast Of Who S The Boss

Remember that show? Who's the Boss? It was on forever ago, wasn't it? Back when big hair was cool and TV shows felt, well, simpler. It’s one of those sitcoms that pops into your head sometimes, like a catchy jingle you can't quite shake. You might be watching something new, totally engrossed, and then BAM! You think, "Hey, whatever happened to that guy who played Tony Micelli?" Or maybe the impossibly perfect Samantha Micelli. It's a genuine question that deserves a lighthearted, slightly nosy exploration. Let's dive in, shall we?

First up, the man himself, the titular Tony Micelli. Played by Tony Danza, of course. Now, Tony Danza is one of those actors who just seems to age in reverse, or maybe he just found the fountain of youth in a comfy cardigan. After Who's the Boss? wrapped up its long run, he didn't exactly disappear into the ether. Oh no. He’s kept busy. He did another sitcom called Hudson Street, which sadly didn’t have the same magic. Then came The Tony Danza Show, his own talk show, proving he has plenty to say. He’s also ventured into Broadway, showing off his singing and dancing chops. And let’s not forget his more dramatic roles, like in the show The Good Cop. He’s like a comfortable old shoe, always reliable, always bringing that Danza charm. My unpopular opinion? He’s still got it. He could probably still whip up a mean spaghetti and meatballs for Angela Bower and still be the coolest dad on the block.

Then we have the glamorous, perpetually stressed businesswoman, Angela Bower, brought to life by the one and only Judith Light. Judith Light is another one of those actresses who has defied time. She’s been a powerhouse for decades. After Who's the Boss?, she continued to be a consistent presence on our screens. She was fantastic in Ugly Betty as Claire Meade, the formidable matriarch. More recently, she’s been absolutely brilliant in the critically acclaimed series Transparent, and then blew us all away in American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. She’s not afraid to take on challenging and complex roles, and she always knocks them out of the park. It's like she gets better with age. Seriously, Judith Light is living proof that some people are just born to shine, and shine brightly.

And what about Samantha Micelli? The daughter who went from a slightly awkward teen to a young woman navigating life. That was Alyssa Milano. Oh, Alyssa. She went on to do a lot, didn't she? She was a huge part of Charmed, battling demons and looking fabulous doing it. She’s also been a passionate activist, using her platform for various causes. She’s also tried her hand at writing, releasing books and comics. And she’s still acting, popping up in various projects. Alyssa Milano has carved out a really interesting and varied career. She’s a multi-talented force, and it’s great to see her continue to explore different avenues. She’s gone from the girl next door to a woman with serious influence.

Let’s not forget the often-overlooked, but always hilarious, Jonathan Bower, played by Danny Pinturoff. Jonathan was the nerdy kid who blossomed. After Who's the Boss?, Danny decided to step away from the Hollywood spotlight for a bit. He pursued higher education, which is always a good thing. He graduated from the University of Virginia. While he hasn't had a huge acting career since, he’s made occasional guest appearances and has been involved in the acting community. It’s refreshing, isn't it? Some people just want a life outside of the constant glare of the cameras. He’s living his life, and that’s pretty cool. It’s a reminder that not everyone who gets famous wants to stay famous forever.

And then there was Mona Robinson, Angela’s mother, played by the legendary Katherine Helmond. Mona was the sassy, often slightly tipsy, mom with the fabulous fashion sense. Katherine Helmond was a treasure. She graced our screens for decades, with roles in everything from Brazil to Everybody Loves Raymond. Her career was long and illustrious. She had a unique energy and a comedic timing that was simply unmatched. Sadly, we lost Katherine Helmond in 2019. She left behind a legacy of unforgettable characters and performances. Her Mona was iconic, and her presence is definitely missed. She was the spice of that show, wasn’t she?

So, what happened to the cast of Who's the Boss? They, like most of us, grew up, pursued different dreams, and continued to live their lives. Some stayed in the limelight, shining brightly, while others chose different paths. It's a testament to their talent that they're still remembered so fondly, and it’s wonderful to see how their journeys have continued. They were a TV family that many of us grew up with, and it’s nice to know they’re all still out there, doing their thing. Even if it’s just Tony Danza making us chuckle on a talk show or Judith Light making us think with a powerful performance. They’re still part of our entertainment landscape, in their own ways.
