Five Cancelled Netflix Shows We Wish Weren T Cancelled

Five Cancelled Netflix Shows We Wish Weren T Cancelled

Oh, Netflix. We love you. You bring us so much joy. We spend hours scrolling. We find hidden gems. We get hooked on new series. But then... you rip them away from us. It’s a heartbreak we all know. That feeling when your favorite show gets the axe. It’s brutal. And sometimes, it feels just plain wrong.

We’ve all been there. You’re deeply invested. The characters feel like friends. The plot twists keep you up at night. You’re eagerly awaiting the next season. And then BAM! A notification. “Netflix Cancels…” Your heart sinks. It’s a tragedy in its own little way.

Today, we’re going to dive into a few of those painful memories. We’re talking about shows that deserved more. Shows that left us wanting so, so much more. These are the ones that still sting. The ones we still occasionally bring up in conversations. “Remember that one show…?”

The One With All The Weirdness

First up, let’s talk about The OA. This show was… different. In the best way possible. It was a mystery. It was sci-fi. It was deeply emotional. The story of Prairie, who returns after being missing for seven years, is just captivating. She calls herself The OA. She has these incredible stories to tell. And these five strangers she brings together. They’re trying to understand what happened.

The second season ended on a massive cliffhanger. It was wild. It opened up so many possibilities. And then… silence. No more OA. No more interpretive dance movements that somehow unlocked hidden dimensions. It felt like we were on the cusp of something truly groundbreaking. And poof. Gone. We’re still wondering what those five strangers would have done next. It’s a mystery that might never be solved, thanks to Netflix.

The One Where High School Was Actually Interesting

Next on our list is Everything Sucks!. Yes, the title is a little on the nose for its fate, but the show itself was anything but. Set in 1996 Oregon, it followed two groups of high school students. The AV club kids and the drama club kids. It was a coming-of-age story with so much heart. It felt so real. The characters were awkward and relatable. It tackled themes of identity, friendship, and first love with a gentle touch.

It had a great cast. The ’90s nostalgia was spot on. The relationships were beautifully developed. You really rooted for these kids. It was a show that felt warm and familiar, like a cozy blanket. It was just getting started, building its world and its characters. And then, like a bad yearbook photo, it was deleted. We really wish we could have seen these kids navigate the rest of high school. It was just too good to end so soon.

The One With The Brilliant Detective

Then there’s Mindhunter. Oh, Mindhunter. This show was pure genius. It was dark. It was psychological. It explored the early days of criminal profiling at the FBI. The way they interviewed serial killers to understand their minds was fascinating. It was chilling. It was incredibly well-acted and directed. Especially by David Fincher. He brought such a unique vision to it.

The show had this incredible tension. The performances were subtle but powerful. You were drawn into the psychology of it all. It felt like a masterclass in storytelling. The wait for season 3 was agonizing. And then we learned it was on indefinite hold, and eventually, effectively cancelled. We’re still mourning the loss of Holden Ford and Bill Tench and their groundbreaking work. What a shame to leave such a compelling investigation unfinished.

The One With The Magic That Felt Real

Let’s not forget The Society. This show had such a cool premise. A group of teenagers return from a school trip to find everyone else in their town gone. Just… vanished. They have to figure out how to survive. And why they were left behind. It was a modern-day take on Lord of the Flies, but with cell phones and better Wi-Fi (when they could get it). It was suspenseful and mysterious.

The mystery was addictive. You were constantly trying to piece things together with the characters. The characters were a diverse bunch, and you got invested in their struggles. The season finale left us with so many questions. It was a setup for something huge. And then, it just… stopped. It’s frustrating when a show builds such an intriguing world and then leaves you hanging forever. We wanted to know what happened next!

The One That Made You Laugh And Cry

Finally, we have Glow. The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. This show was a vibrant explosion of color, energy, and heart. It was set in the 1980s and followed a group of misfit women who become wrestlers. It was funny. It was empowering. It was surprisingly emotional. The characters were complex and flawed. You really loved watching them find their footing.

Alison Brie was fantastic. The ensemble cast was incredible. The wrestling scenes were fun. But it was the friendships and the struggles of these women that really made the show shine. It was a celebration of sisterhood and chasing your dreams. It was cancelled right before its final season was supposed to wrap up the story. We were so close to a satisfying conclusion. It’s a real bummer to miss out on the final bows for these amazing characters. We still miss their glitter and their grit.

So there you have it. Five shows that we believe deserved a longer run. Five shows that left a void in our viewing lives. We know there are many more out there. But these five, for us, are the ones that still sting the most. Here’s to hoping Netflix takes note. And maybe, just maybe, revives one of them someday. A fan can dream, right?
